Catherine has extensive knowledge across a wide range of biotechnology and chemistry fields. Her particular areas of expertise include therapeutics, diagnostic assays, materials chemistry, catalysts, industrial minerals and mineral-containing products. Catherine works with a wide range of clients including Universities, SMEs and larger multinational companies.
This varied client base along with valuable in-house experience gained during her secondment at a multinational company and her extensive experience of patent prosecution overseas allows Catherine to provide purposeful advice specifically tailored to a client’s individual needs.
Along with extensive experience in patent prosecution in Europe and overseas and drafting patent applications, Catherine also regularly represents clients in opposition and appeal cases at the EPO and advises on freedom-to-operate and infringement issues.
Catherine joined the Chemistry and Life Sciences team after obtaining a First Class Honours degree from the University of Durham and a Master’s degree with distinction from Imperial College London.
