With a fast pace of development and demanding product launch schedules we rapidly build a defensive IP portfolio (with some patents granting in under 18 months). Working directly with board members we readied the IP portfolio for investment rounds.
We have advised this biopharma company providing cancer therapeutics from spin-out to IPO (and beyond), helping them to identify and protect valuable IP, with IP agreements and collaborations, and to prepare the sell-side due diligence for an IPO. We frequently adapted the IP strategy along this journey in response to budget constraints and opportunities.
Working from initial start-up through to acquisition by US-based company Mindspeed Technologies (and subsequently Intel). We regularly liaised with their CTO to discuss prospective inventions and the drafting, filing, prosecution and related advice for 30+ patent families and several important brand IP rights in Europe, the US and Asia.
Advising from initial start-up through to their acquisition by US-based Mobileum. We worked closely with the Founder and Systems Director to select inventions for filing and prosecution in view of a limited IP budget, handling the drafting and prosecution of these applications across their most important markets, including the US, Europe and South America. We also carried out a key part of due diligence in the run up to their acquisition.
