About Lisa

Lisa is passionate about science and innovation with a strong background in biochemistry and prize-winning communication skills. Her diverse interests and multi-facetted skill set have motivated her to pursue a career in the IP profession.

Lisa joined the Chemistry and Life Sciences Team at Haseltine Lake Kempner in 2021, after completing her PhD and a post-doc at the University of Oxford. Her scientific background primarily lies in biochemistry, genetics, as well as molecular and cellular biology.

During her PhD, Lisa conducted research on epigenetics and X-chromosome inactivation using cutting edge technologies, such as CRISPR/Cas9 mediated genome engineering of stem cells and super-resolution microscopy techniques. Her work has recently been published in the top peer-reviewed scientific journal Science. Lisa has been awarded multiple scholarships and awards, such as a 3-year scholarship by the Medical Research Council UK and the 2019 Goodger and Schorstein Award.

Originally from Hamburg, Germany, Lisa is fluent in both English and German. She has a keen interest in languages, and has studied Spanish, Latin, Mandarin, French, and Greek.

In her spare time, Lisa enjoys volunteering for Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Social Mobility Foundation. Both charities revolve around outreach and mentoring for disadvantaged children.
