HLK’s Chief Representative China Office Invited to Speak at the International Intellectual Property Protection Tour Seminar (Zhuhai)

By Li Min (Ellie), Chief Representative China Office

At the Zhuhai Intellectual Property Protection Center on the morning of the 6th November, Li Min (Ellie), (HLK’s Chief Representative for our China Office, spoke at the “International Intellectual Property Protection tour seminar (Zhuhai)”. The event was hosted by the Guangdong Intellectual Property Protection Center and Zhuhai Market Supervision and Administration Bureau (Intellectual Property Office) and was jointly organised by Intellectual Property Service Center of CCPIT.

Li Min (Ellie) gave a speech on “EPC practice and the Impact of Brexit on Intellectual Property Rights”, a hot topic given the impending Brexit date. Also at the event was Mr Huang Guanghua, the second level inspector of Guangdong Intellectual Property Protection Center, who delivered an opening speech. Ms Zhang Qiuyue, deputy director of China (Zhuhai) Intellectual Property Protection Center, Mr Zhou Dedong, director of Intellectual Property Service Center of CCPIT and Secretary General of Guangdong Overseas Intellectual Property Protection Promotion Association, and Ms Ran Ruixue, partner of Covington & Burling, all gave speeches in the seminar.

The seminar was broadcast live online, with more than 5,000 people tuning in to watch. Broadcasting events online provides a new way for people who are interested in international intellectual property protection to communicate, it also removes many of the barriers created by the need to travel to in-person events. We hope that more events will utilise this technology in the future.
