HLK are once again partnering with Converge – Scotland’s largest company creation and enterprise programme for the university sector. Dispelling the myth that you need to call yourself an “entrepreneur” to set up a business, Converge helps staff, students, and recent graduates from Scottish universities to launch their own businesses aiming to highlight the impact on both people and on the planet that founders can have through their companies.
Last week Converge opened applications for this year’s quartet of challenges – Converge, Create Change, KickStart and Net Zero which will help innovative start-ups and spinouts to create products and services which go beyond simply making a profit but also impact peoples lives for the better.
As in 2022, HLK will again be working with Converge to provide IP support to successful applicants as they seek to take their business concepts through to commercial realisation.
Since its conception in 2011, Converge initiative has helped more than 600 people to launch more than 300 business, creating in excess of 800 high-value jobs and aligning with HLK’s long standing record of supporting some of the leading UK and global universities in their quest to protect and realise the commercial value of their research and innovation.
